Nominations for 2021 UMPDA Board Summer Election

Get involved in shaping policy that directly impacts postdocs and improves the postdoc experience!  Consider running or nominate a colleague for one of the open positions on the UM Postdoctoral Association board. The UMPDA board is seeking nominations for the following positions:

Secretary, Treasurer, Networking Co-chair, PR Co-chair, Postdoctoral connections, Postdoctoral Affairs, Outreach

Please, refer to the UMPDA bylaws for a more detailed description of the position duties and responsibilities. It is a two-year term with a minimum one year commitment. Interested candidates should email a copy of their position statements (a 500 words describing your qualifications and goals for the position), CV, and a photo of themselves to umpdacochairs@umich.edu. Postdocs nominated by their peers will be contacted by the election committee to confirm interest.

Statement should include:

(1) Reasons why you are qualified for the position
(2) Your goals for your tenure in the position
(3) Statement should be limited to 500 words

Timeline for the 2021 UMPDA board election:

May 31 – Jun 04: Candidate nomination period, peer nomination
Jun 04: UMPDA Board meeting for interested candidates
Jun 14 – Jun 18: Election
Week of Jun 21: Announcement of the new Board members
